Boston (Capital)

Boston the capital of Massachusetts is one of America’s oldest cities. It was first incorporated as a town in 1630, and then as a city in 1822.
Boston is home to some of the world’s famous institutions of higher education, finest hospitals, numerous cultural and sports centers. People primarily work in the finance, health care, educational, and service areas in Boston.

Boston was once the maritime capital of the US and its finest location on the Atlantic Ocean also witnesses heavy flow of tourists al round the year. It is one of the country’s premier tourist attractions. It is the largest cites among the six New England states and is famous as the birthplace of the American Revolution, the site of New England's largest fleet of clipper ships, and rendezvous of America's literati. Since the economic downturn that occurred in 1988 through 1992, the city has been enjoying an economic recovery, with several large projects including the famous (or to some, infamous) Big Dig.

Two important rivers of Massachusetts, Charles and Mystic rivers flow into Boston's inner harbor and then into Boston Harbor itself. Boston's Harbor Islands are located in the inner harbor. Shawmut was originally a hilly peninsula that was separated almost entirely from the mainland by marshy swamps. With time, Boston's hills were leveled to fill in the back bay marshes. However, till today, Boston's terrain remains mostly rolling.

Boston is one the wettest cities of the US. Spring and summer receives rainfall while snow falls regularly throughout winter Atlantic breezesmake Boston among the country's windiest cities and occasionally blow into full-fledged storms called "nor'easters."
