Massachusetts : Administration

Massachusetts is ranked 14th among the 50 states of U.S. Massachusetts is located in Mid-Atlantic region of southern United States. Massachusetts was admitted to the U.S union in 1788 as 6th state. The constitution of Massachusetts provides three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. Massachusetts has a bicameral legislature, which comprises of 40-members in Senator and 160-members in House of Representatives. Leader of House and Senate are chosen by the members of the body. The Senators and the House of Representatives are both elected for two-year term. The governor of Massachusetts serves a four year term and the executive branch consists of eight elected officers and lieutenant governor. The highest authority in Massachusetts is of Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court as per the judiciary authority and there are several other lower courts as well. The Supreme Judicial Court is made up of a chief justice and six other associates.

Executive office of Public safety and Security: The aim of Massachusetts Department of Public Safety is to protect human life and property and prevent and control criminal activities and other harmful activities including both calamities and hazards by enforcing state laws and policy.

Office of Transportation: The Massachusetts Office of Transportation constructs and maintains highways, roads and mass transit systems for the safe and faster movement of people and goods.

Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program: The WIC is a nutrition program that provides health education, food and other services to women and children free of charge. The program is run by the Office of Health and Human Services.
